Tissue Damage, Acute Injury, and Chronic Pain
Thursday, June 30th, 2011Tissues can take a varying period of time to repair fully, and they never really regenerate. The tissues will always be slightly different from what they were before the injury occurred.
But most tissue damage is acute, and the pain will go away on its own over a few days, weeks, or months, depending on which body part has been injured and how badly.
If an injury is still painful after the usual time that the tissues should have healed, then the chances of developing a chronic pain syndrome begin to rise.
